Parents in Kitagwenda district have been urged to actively participate in their children’s upbringing to foster stronger families and improve academic performance.
The call was yesterday made by Denis Baguma the head teacher Mahyoro secondary school during a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting which also resulted in the formation of a new PTA leadership.
Denis noted that active parental involvement is critical for a student’s cognitive, emotional, and social success.
The Mahyoro Town Council Town Clerk, Pius, challenged Old Boys and Old Girls (OBs and OGs) to build strong partnerships with the institution to guarantee its continued success.
Kitagwenda District Education Officer, Sedas Asiimwe, advised the school administration and the PTA to avoid religious biases when selecting school management committees and board members.
A new PTA leadership committee was successfully elected and established to oversee the proper management and development of the school moving forward.
