Kitagwenda District local government recently hosted a belated International Women’s Day celebration at the Ntara sub-county headquarters. Leaders used the occasion to honor women’s resilience and advocate for girl child education.

Kitagwenda Town Council Mayor Patrick Turyamureeba Payi described women as the “flowers of the world” and highlighted their ability to successfully manage demanding tasks.

Kitagwenda District LC5 Chairperson Efrance Kenyonyozi urged all parents to prioritize and support the education of the girl child to secure a better future for the community.

Officiating at the function, Kitagwenda Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Isaiah Byarugaba Kanyamahane commended women for their on-going resilience and significant contributions to national development.
