The NRM Women’s League in Kitagwenda District recently praised the grassroots efforts of Empowering Women in Politics (EWIP) and Christian Democratic international Centre (KIC ) to strengthen local women’s leadership.
Designed to boost political capacity, the capacity-building session equipped women councillors with the skills needed to drive community development and improve accountability.
The workshop received high praise from Hon. Doreen Nankunda, the Chairperson of the NRM Women’s League in Kitagwenda District. Emphasizing that meaningful community transformation begins at the local level, she commended the initiative as highly fulfilling.
“Doing a great job! It has been so fulfilling sharing with Women Councillors on their roles,” stated Hon. Nankunda. “Real service delivery starts with you, my ladies. Go shine.”
The training is part of KIC and EWIP’s broader mission across Uganda to advance women’s effective participation in politics.
Through targeted mentorship and capacity building, the organization focuses on equipping female leaders with the essential skills and confidence they need to become powerful agents of transformation in their respective communities.
