The Kitagwenda women Member of Parliament, Hon. Dorothy Nyakato Nzibonera, has been elected the chairperson of the Kitagwenda District Roads Committee.

She holds this position by mandate, as Members of Parliament are designated to chair the roads committees in their respective districts and municipalities in Uganda.

Dorothy was elected during the district road committee meeting held at the district headquarters on Monday 13th July 2026.

She was nominated by hon. Efrance Kenyonyozi Atwongyere the LCV chairperson and seconded by the secretary for works James Baguma Mugaiga.

Before her nomination and election, the chief administrative officer Moses RK Daliri was the acting chairperson but handed over the power after the election.

Her election came amidst public criticism over the increasing shoddy work in public infrastructure in various areas in the district.

Robert Mugabe the MP Kitagwenda County also attended the meeting among other district officials.
