Residents in communities plagued by crocodile attacks in greater, Mahyoro town council, Kitagwenda district along Lake George have commended the Member of Parliament Robert Mugabe over translocation of the reptiles.
On 26th June 2026, hon.Robert Mugabe wrote to Uganda wild life Authority-UWA asking for translocation of the reptiles following loss of several lives due to crocodile attacks.
In response the Uganda Wildlife Authority’s Problem Animal Control Unit (PACU) carried out an operation on Kanyabikyere, capturing two crocodiles suspected of attacking humans.
Mike Birungi, the assistant human wild life conflict officer Queen Elizabeth conservation area Queen Elizabeth Conservation Area told our reporter that their personnel will hunt for the deadly predators and relocate them to Lake Kibwera in Queen Elizabeth national park.
Speaking to our reporter in an exclusive interview, residents commended Robert Mugabe for influencing UWA saying hopes are high the reptiles will be taken away.
However, they want the authority to fasten the translocation since the reptiles are many in the area.
Robert Mugabe told our reporter on phone that he will talk to UWA team to quicken the translocation process.
