Former Ibanda South Member of Parliament candidate Susan Sota has been nominated unopposed for the position of Ibanda District Women Council Chairperson on the National Resistance Movement (NRM) ticket.
Sota was nominated at the Electoral Commission offices in Ibanda Town by the Ibanda District Registrar.
Speaking shortly after her nomination, Sota pledged to prioritize advocacy for women’s affairs, with a focus on education, health, and access to government programmes.
Her proposed executive includes Agatha Kabasyaba as Secretary for Finance, Scholar Kyomuhangi as Vice Chairperson, and Medias Kyarikunda Tweyambe as Secretary for Publicity.
Ibanda District Registrar Aidah Nkaija Barekye said the Electoral Commission is expected to declare Sota and her team unopposed on Friday, August 28, 2026, which is the scheduled Election Day.
