Buyanja East MP Hon. Dr. Emely Kugonza, has urged women to take the lead in wealth creation at household level, saying family transformation is the foundation for community and national development.
Dr. Emely made the call this evening as he addressed a cross-section of women drawn from Kasimbi Catholic Parish at his country home in Kaisekenkere, Kibaale District.
The meeting brought together women leaders and members of different Sub-Parish groups under Kasimbi Parish to discuss strategies for improving livelihoods and strengthening savings.
He challenged the women to actively participate in government programmes such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) and his own constituency initiative, the _Kanzali Economic Empowerment Programme.
Dr. Emely donated 5 million shillings to support the women’s Sub-Parish groups.
The women’s meeting with MP Emely was attended by Rev. Fr. John Mary Busobozi the Parish priest Kasimbi Catholic Parish.
