Christians of Kihumuro Church of Uganda parish in Kitagwenda will hold a fundraising drive to raise 32 million shillings needed to complete the roofing of the church.
The fundraising function will be held at Kihumuro Church of Uganda Parish Headquarters,in Kakatsi sub county today Friday 25th September 2026
Parish Priest Rev. Alex Kamugisha says construction of Kihumuro Church of Uganda started in 2014 but stalled at wall-plate level in 2016.
He says after transferring to the parish in 2024, he mobilized Christians to resume construction, including roofing works.
The church had budgeted for 400 versatile iron sheets, but only 300 have so far been installed, leaving a balance of 100 sheets worth 10 million shillings.
Rev. Kamugisha says another 12 million shillings is needed for metallic bars and other roofing materials, while 10 million shillings is required for labour.
The Chief Guest will be Kitagwenda County MP, Hon. Robert Mugabe Omutembuzi, who has appealed to Christians and well-wishers to support the fundraising drive.
