Residents of Kitagwenda District have been urged to embrace hard work and contribute towards supporting bereaved families, instead of attending burial ceremonies empty-handed.

The call was made by the Curate of Nyakasura Parish in Mahyoro Town Council, Kitagwenda District, Rev. Fr. Cyril Tumwesigye, during the send-off ceremony of the late Fred Nsheka, a resident of Nshonda Cell in Kitagwenda Town Council.

Fr. Tumwesigye cautioned people, particularly the younger generation, against relying solely on their parents’ property without working for themselves.

He also encouraged mourners to always make a contribution, however small, to support bereaved families, saying attending burial ceremonies without offering any form of support should be discouraged.

The Curate further called on relatives to maintain close relationships and regularly visit their loved ones while they are still alive, rather than waiting until death to show concern and support.
