PATRICK A RELIABLE RESOURSE FOR KITAGWENDA’S DEVELOPMENT
Based on recent developments and election cycles leading into 2026, Patrick Turyamureba the NRM vice chairperson Kitagwenda district is one of the distinguished Local Council 111 Chairpersons, recognized for his leadership in Kitagwenda district and western Ugandan
Mr Patrick assumed office as LC3 Chairperson Kitagwenda town council in 2021 and recently won the second term.
Hon. Patrick Turyamureba PAYI (Kitagwenda town council): Currently recognized as a top-performing LC3 Chairperson in accountability and monitoring, he serves as the chairperson of the LC3 chairpersons’ Association in Kitagwenda district. He has been vocal in promoting the Parish Development Model (PDM) and has shared Kitagwenda town council’s governance experiences nationally.
The NRM recognized him for his grassroots mobilization. He was declared winner for the 2026 election after pulling over 70% beating two other contenders.
Patrick who is the pioneer chairperson Kitagwenda town council after winning the second term, said her will advocate and put efforts to transform rural livelihoods, particularly in improving access to water and medical services.
NEW STRATEGIES
- Promoting sports. Patrick has held two successful tournaments titled Mayor’s cup which have promoted talents among the youth and fetched income for the local community. He said the tournament will be held annually.
- Medical camps. Held several times, communities have accessed health services such as cancer screening, dental services, Malaria screening and treatment, HIV screening, guidance and counselling among others.
- General cleaning. Patrick has initiated an exercise to carryout general cleaning in trading centres to promote sanitation and hygiene services in the town council.
- Improving infrastructure. He has worked on community access roads and bridges to improve social networking in the business communities between Kitagwenda town council and neighbouring areas.
