Labour Day Message from the Kitagwenda MP elect

Theme: “Safeguarding Uganda’s Progress: Empowering the Workforce and Promoting Decent Work for Competitive Enterprises”

Fellow Citizens, Residents, and Workers of our District, I convey my regards to you fellow Ugandans especially from Kitagwenda district.

Today, we join the rest of the world to celebrate International Labour Day- to recognizing the invaluable contributions of our workers across every field and industry.

I stand with you to honour the relentless spirit of hard work and dedication that defines our community. From the farmers in our villages, and the boda boda riders, to the teachers, nurses, and other civil servants, and private sector employees-you are the true engine of our economic development.

Appreciation & Recognition: I thank workers for their relentless effort in driving progress, from farmers to service providers.

Solidarity & Rights: I will advocate for fair wages, safe working conditions, and the on-going fight for workers’ rights.

Rest & Reflection: I encourage workers to take a well-deserved break to rest and recharge.

Support: I express a commitment to advocating for worker interests and recognizing their value.
