Ibanda Municipality leaders have suspended the official commissioning of a new two-classroom block at Bufunda Primary School due to missing Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and questionable construction accountability.
The decision was made during a wider municipal tour where leaders including the mayor Deus Dedit Mulinde, Municipal Education Officer and municipal engineers were inspecting several projects.
During the tour, officials could not verify how funds were utilized or if the structure is safe without the proper supporting construction documents.
This forced the Ibanda municipal Mayor Deusdedit Mulinde to halt the commissioning on-site; demanding that engineers first prove the building meets required government standards.
The commissioning will remain suspended until a thorough review of the construction standards and financial accountability is completed.
