A fatal crocodile attack on 35-year-old fisherman Ibrahim Tayebwa at Lake George’s shores has left the community of Kanyabikyere Cell in Mahyoro Town Council, Kitagwenda District, in deep shock.
Local leaders, including area LC1 Chairperson Orlando Juma, confirmed the tragic incident.
Speaking during the burial, the LC3 chairperson Mahyoro Town Council, Joshua Atumanya, urged residents to prioritize educating their children, noting that education can help reduce cases of risky activities around the lake and improve community awareness.
The incident has heightened calls for improved safety and community awareness regarding human-wildlife conflicts in the region.
