Police in Kitagwenda is investigating circumstances under which a priest attached to Nyakasura parish had physical altercations involving the health inspector.
Rev.Fr.Bainakanama Fabias the curette Nyakasura catholic parish is said to have assaulted the health inspector greater Mahyoro last week at parish headquarters in Nyakasura, Mahyoro sub county.
The two are said to have had disagreed over ongoing construction of a block part of St. Joseph’s secondary school belonging to the parish.
Enock said he was beaten by Fr. Bainakanama last week while inquiring about whether the plans the parish used were approved by the responsible authority.
However, Fr.Binakanama told our reporter the health inspector demanded for a bribe which resulted into physical altercations in the parish offices.
When contacted for a comment over the matter, Joshua Akankunda the Kitagwenda district police commander said the matter is being followed up.
