Kamwenge district leadership led by LCV Chairperson Karungi Joseph and RDC Aharikundira Africano on Wednesday commissioned four boreholes in Kibale Constituency, aimed at improving access to clean and safe water in the area.
The boreholes were commissioned in Kiziba III in Kamwenge Sub-county, Bigaga II in Kahunge Town Council, and Kacwamakaito in Bigodi Town Council, as part of government water improvement interventions funded through a Shs 200 million allocation.
Karungi said the district fully utilised the funds, noting that eight boreholes were constructed, with four in Kibale County and another four in Kibale East County.
RDC Aharikundira Africano urged residents to trust and support their leaders for improved service delivery.
The Secretary for Works and Production Muhwezi Yonan called for formation of water user committees to maintain boreholes
Local leaders praised the district for fulfilling pledges.
