His Royal Majesty King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV has approved a mini reshuffle of the Tooro Kingdom cabinet through the Prime Minister, bringing new faces into key docket positions.
The changes announced today aim to strengthen communication, education, and youth engagement as the kingdom pushes its development agenda forward.
New appointments & changes:
Communication docket reshaped
– Owek. Joe Musinguzi takes over as the _New Information Minister_, replacing the previous office holder.
– Owek. Bridget Kabahenda has been named _New Deputy Information Minister_, working alongside Musinguzi.
– Owek. Vincent Mugume steps in as the _New Kingdom’s Spokesperson_, the official voice of the palace.
Education, Youth & Agriculture
-Owek. Mutegeki Ronald moves to _New Deputy Minister of Education_ after serving as Deputy Minister of Information.
– Owek. Ahurra Ivan joins as _New Deputy Youth Minister_, tasked with championing youth programs.
– Owek. Patrick Muhenda is now New Deputy Minister for Agriculture, as Tooro continues to push commercial farming.
Culture & ICT
– Owek. Winfred Mugabi* has been appointed _New Deputy Minister of Culture_ to help preserve Tooro traditions.
– Owek. Drake Mirembe* comes in as the _New ICT Minister_, a role expected to drive the kingdom’s digital transformation.
The reshuffle signals King Oyo’s focus on modernizing the kingdom’s administration while keeping cultural roots intact. With new leaders in information, ICT, and youth, the palace is positioning itself to reach more subjects and improve service delivery.
King Oyo, who ascended the throne as a child in 1995, remains one of Uganda’s youngest monarchs and continues to use cabinet adjustments to balance tradition with new ideas.
The newly appointed ministers are expected to be sworn in and begin work immediately as the kingdom prepares for upcoming cultural events and development projects.
