Nyakasura Catholic Parish in Kitagwenda district Fort Portal Diocese is set to host a four-day Healing and Deliverance Conference aimed at strengthening the faith of Christians and offering spiritual renewal through prayer, worship and the preaching of God’s word.

The conference will take place from August 20 to 23, 2026, under the theme, “Lord, If You Are Willing, You Can Make Me Clean,” drawn from Matthew 8:2.

The event will be led by renowned Catholic preacher and founder of the Alleluia Ministries, Rev. Fr. John Baptist Bashobora, who is widely known for leading healing and evangelization conferences across Uganda and beyond.

According to the parish leadership, the conference is expected to attract thousands of pilgrims, faithful and visitors from Fort Portal Diocese and neighboring dioceses seeking spiritual healing, deliverance and a deeper encounter with God.

The four-day program will feature daily Holy Mass, praise and worship sessions, healing prayers, confessions, Eucharistic adoration, counselling and teachings focused on faith, repentance and Christian living.

Organizers say the conference is intended to inspire hope among believers facing various spiritual, emotional and personal challenges, while encouraging participants to strengthen their relationship with God through prayer and the sacraments.

The theme is inspired by the Gospel of Matthew, where a man suffering from leprosy approached Jesus in faith and declared, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” The scripture highlights Christ’s compassion and power to heal those who come to Him with faith.

The parish has invited all Christians, regardless of denomination, to attend the conference and experience moments of prayer, healing and spiritual renewal. Organizers have also called upon the faithful to prepare through prayer and to participate fully in the four-day program.

The conference is expected to be one of the major spiritual gatherings in Fort Portal Diocese this year, bringing together clergy, religious leaders and lay faithful in a shared journey of faith, healing and hope.
