A vehicle belonging to the Sub-Dean of St. Stephen’s Cathedral in the Diocese of East Rwenzori was involved in a road accident this afternoon along the Ntara-Kabujogera road, near Ruhiiga Trading Center in Kabujogera Town Council, Kitagwenda District.
According to eyewitnesses , the vehicle had only the driver on board at the time of the accident. The driver sustained injuries in the crash and was initially rushed to Ntara Health Centre IV, where he received first aid.
However, due to the nature of the injuries, the driver was later referred to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital for further assessment and specialized treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear. It is not yet known whether factors such as road conditions, mechanical failure, speeding, or other circumstances may have contributed to the accident.
Police in Kitagwenda District are expected to investigate the incident and issue a statement providing further details on what may have caused the crash.
The accident has drawn attention among residents and church members in the area, as efforts continue to establish the exact circumstances under which the vehicle lost control and crashed.
