The Kitagwenda District LCV Chairperson, Hon. Efrance Kenyonyozi Atwongyere, has challenged residents to look beyond the National Cleaning Day and make sanitation and hygiene a daily responsibility.
Efrance made the remarks while participating in the National Cleaning Day exercise in Mahyoro Town Council.
She urged residents to regularly clean their homes, compounds and surroundings instead of waiting for designated cleaning days to improve sanitation.
The district chairperson said maintaining a clean environment is essential in preventing diseases and promoting the health and well-being of communities.
She also called on local leaders to mobilize residents and ensure that cleanliness becomes a continuous practice in their respective communities.
She emphasized that the success of the National Cleaning Day initiative depends on the willingness of communities to sustain the cleanliness achieved during the exercise.
