Residents of Kitagwenda District have praised their area Member of Parliament, Hon. Robert Mugabe Omutembuzi, for his dedication, accessibility and impressive performance both in Parliament and within his constituency.

Since being sworn in as the Kitagwenda County MP earlier this year, Hon. Mugabe has demonstrated an active approach to parliamentary duties, earning recognition from residents who had initially questioned his ability to deliver on his responsibilities.

According to locals, the legislator has maintained a strong presence in the community, engaging residents, mobilizing them around key development priorities and gathering concerns that he subsequently raises on the floor of Parliament for consideration and action.

One of the major issues he has championed is the tarmacking of the Kitagwenda road, which residents say had previously been left out of the National Development Plans (NDPs). Through his lobbying efforts, the road has now been included in the plans, raising hopes for improved transport and connectivity in the district.

Hon. Mugabe has also attracted praise for his intervention in addressing crocodile attacks along the shores of Lake George, which had claimed several lives. Residents consider his involvement in the matter one of the notable interventions he has pursued during his relatively short time in office.

His hands-on leadership style, consistent engagement with constituents and ability to articulate local concerns in Parliament have further strengthened his standing among the people of Kitagwenda.

Some residents now regard him as one of the most effective legislators to have represented the county, comparing his performance favourably with that of his predecessors.

As he continues his work at both national and grassroots levels, residents say they are encouraged by his approach and hopeful that his efforts will translate into tangible development and lasting solutions to the challenges facing Kitagwenda District.
