Newly elected local council three chairperson for Mahyoro town council in Kitagwenda district Joshua Atumanya has taken oaths of office following electoral victory. 

Joshua took the oath of office during a swearing-in ceremony for newly elected ward councilors held at the Mahyoro town council headquarters. The ceremony was presided over by the Kitagwenda district deputy chief administrative officer Moses Akankwatsa and marked the beginning of a new council term.

During the swearing-in ceremony, he rallied newly elected ward councilors to prioritize the fight against corruption and improve public service delivery.

Addressing councillors during the first council sitting shortly after the swearing-in ceremony, Joshua described corruption as one of the biggest obstacles to effective service delivery in the town council.

He pledged to prioritize education, and strict monitoring of government projects which are ways to combat school drop out and corruption.

Some of the councilors after taking oath further pledged to promote harmony and accountability between leaders and technical staff.

During the council,Shamila Nyesiga was elected unopposed as the speaker and as well as Patrick Bwanakweri as deputy speaker.

Among executive members include,Medias Niweyampa vice chairperson,Samuel Isingoma secretary for social services,Sauda Nansiti for finance and planning,and Rukada Abdallah secretary for production and natural resources.
