The Member of Parliament for Kitagwenda County, Hon. Robert Mugabe, popularly known as Omutembuzi, has pledged to hold regular community meetings with community members to ensure their voices are heard and their concerns addressed.
Speaking during a thanksgiving service at Kyendangara Church of Uganda, Mugabe said previous leaders rarely met with local communities, leaving many residents uninformed about government programmes while key challenges went unreported and unresolved.
Mugabe emphasised that consistent interaction between elected leaders and the electorate is essential for effective representation, accountability and timely identification of community needs.
He pledged to bridge the gap by working closely with newly elected local leaders and maintaining regular contact with residents across Kitagwenda County. According to the legislator, his leadership will focus on listening to the people, strengthening communication channels and ensuring that local concerns are presented before the relevant government authorities for action.
The MP called on residents to actively participate in community meetings and continue engaging their leaders, noting that development can only be achieved through cooperation between leaders and the communities they serve.
