Oxford Modern School Biguli has emerged the best-performing school in Kamwenge District in the 2026 district mock examinations, with all its 72 candidates scoring Division One.
The school is followed by Kamwenge Modern School, where all 25 candidates scored Division One, while Prime Preparatory School came third, with all 74 candidates scoring Division One.
Oxford Modern School Biguli Director, Aggrey Natuhamya, attributes the school’s good performance to regular practice using past examination papers and mock tests.
Natuhamya also says the school provides extra support and remedial teaching to learners who are weak in particular subjects, while low rates of teacher and pupil absenteeism have helped improve learning.
He adds that parents have played a key role by providing pupils with basic school requirements and ensuring they are adequately fed, enabling them to concentrate on their studies.
The 2026 Kamwenge district mock results show an improvement compared to last year, with 730 candidates scoring Division One, up from 565 in 2025.
Overall, 2,082 candidates scored Division Two, 272 Division Three, 1,498 Division Four, while 1,224 were ungraded and 93 scored Division X.
Among government schools, Rwengobe Primary School emerged the best performer, with 33 candidates in Division One and 55 in Division Two.
Kamwenge Railway Primary School had 31 candidates in Division One and 62 in Division Two, while Kamwenge Primary School had 23 candidates in Division One.
