BUSHENYI – A new candidate has stepped onto the political stage in Bushenyi Municipality, with entrepreneur Tukundane Casbart being officially nominated to contest for the Parliamentary seat, promising a campaign focused on service and tangible solutions for the community.

Running as an independent, Casbart has declared that his campaign will move beyond traditional politics to address the pressing, everyday issues facing the people of Bushenyi Municipality

Following his nomination, Casbart outlined a platform built on direct action. “My purpose in this race is to serve,” he stated. “We will focus on the issues that touch every household: improving our clinics and access to healthcare, ensuring our schools have the resources to educate our children, creating a fair and supportive environment for our local businesses, and forging real pathways to employment for our youth.”

His vision has resonated strongly with a cross-section of the community, particularly young people and small business owners who feel their concerns have been overlooked.

“For too long, we have talked about politics instead of progress,” said one local shopkeeper. “Casbart is speaking about the high taxes that are stifling my business and the poor road that affects my customers. This is what we need to hear.”

Another supporter, a recent graduate, highlighted the focus on youth unemployment. “We need a leader who will not just make promises but will create programs for skills development and attract investment that creates jobs. Tukundane represents that practical hope

As the campaign begins, Casbart has committed to a grassroots approach, pledging to listen to constituents and champion their needs in Parliament. The race in Bushenyi is now set to be a referendum on which candidate can most effectively deliver on the critical issues of health, education, economic opportunity, and employment.
