Police in Kazo district are holding 32-year-old Kirabo Immaculate, a resident of Mezimeru Village, Nsheshe Parish in Engari Sub County, Kazo district on suspicion of slaughtering a cat for unknown reasons.
Residents reported that Immaculate had travelled to Saudi Arabia where she worked for two years and sent money to her husband. Upon her return, she allegedly discovered that her husband had married another woman using the money she used to send him while she was abroad.
According to residents, Immaculate’s actions have caused fear and concern, especially since parts of the cat, including the liver, are still missing.
The husband, Naboth Arinaitwe, has also appealed for help from the community, expressing fears for his safety.
Lillian Tumwesigye, the Lady Councillor for Nsheshe Parish, promised to convene an immediate cell meeting to address the situation.
