Boda boda riders in Kicheche Sub-county, Kitagwenda District, have been charged to embrace professionalism, discipline, and improved health and safety standards to curb fatal accidents and boost their incomes.
The appeal was made over the weekend by Godfrey Mwijukye, popularly known as “Good,” the Kitagwenda District Boda Boda Riders’ Chairperson, during the official launch of the Kafridge Boda Boda Association in Rwandagano Cell, Kintamugara Parish.
Speaking at the launch, Innocent Natamba, the Chairperson of the new Kafridge Boda Boda Association, lauded the government for creating a conducive environment for operators to organize. Natamba noted significant growth, stating that the association grew from just 10 members in 2025 to over 40, with savings reaching 5 million shillings by 2026.
Local leaders, including Hon. Godfrey Twesiime, the Kinyamugara Parish Councilor, and Hon. Josephine Turiho Ahabwe, the Secretary for Works for Kicheche Sub-county, praised the riders for their efforts in advancing economic development within the area.
