Kitagwenda County has made a winning start to the 2026 Tooro Kingdom MTN Amasaza Cup after edging Burahya County 1-0 in a closely contested Group B match played this afternoon at Buhinga Playground.
The lone goal earned Kitagwenda all three points despite sustained second-half pressure from Burahya, whose search for an equalizer was denied by a resilient defense.
The derby attracted enthusiastic fans, with supporters paying two thousand shillings to watch an entertaining contest that showcased skill, determination, and county pride.
The tournament, organized by Obukama Bwa Tooro in partnership with MTN Uganda and supported by Plascon, continues under the theme, “Omukama Ahangirize” – The King Commands.
Attention now turns to the upcoming fixtures, with Burahya set to face Kyaka in the second leg of the semi-finals on 4th August after Kyaka won the first leg, while Mwenge South hosts Mwenge North on 6th August.
The tournament final is scheduled for 12th August at Buhinga Stadium in Fort Portal City, where the winners will walk away with five million shillings in prize money.
